The Fight for Youth Corporate Boxing Event will be the largest boxing event in Christchurch in 2010. It has the goal to raise funds for local Youth Charities and Junior Sports Organisations. It is where novice Contenders from well known local companies go head to head…in the ring! Join the who’s who of Christchurch business leaders, local politicians and sporting greats who will be attending the Fight for Youth.

The Charities – Our community

The Fight for Youth Event has the goal to raise funds for up and coming Canterbury Boxers, local Christchurch Youth Charities, Sport Canterbury’s Sporting Chance Fund and Junior Sport Organisations. There are a lot of local Youth charities doing very good in our community. Some are known, some are not so well known, so not only is the Fight for Youth a chance to raise some funds for great Community organisations, but to also give some of these charities more exposure to the wider Christchurch public.

The Companies – Reputations are on the line!!

Company reputations are on the line! Corporate Boxing has been a popular concept for many years. This essentially is a challenge between local companies going head to head for the title and ultimate bragging rights! It won’t be just about male fighters with female fighters lining up to represent their companies on the night also.

The “Contenders” - Just your average business person….

The Corporate Boxer is just your average business person wishing to experience the thrill of competing in the ring for the first time. No contender has had any previous competitive boxing or martial arts experience so this will be completely new to them. All Contenders will be trained by certified Boxing NZ coaches and will be under no illusion as to the intensity he or she is expected to train. Safety is Paramount and during the build up they will undergo rigorous fitness training and learn correct boxing techniques under a fully supervised training programme.

The Entertainment – A night of glitz and glam!

This is not just a night of boxing but also night of glamorous entertainment and show with some of Christchurch’s best singers, dancers, entertainers and performers. Expect to see a few surprises. To see the full programme click here.

The Venue

Cowles Stadium will be transformed to give guests an atmosphere expected at a major boxing event with over 500 formally-attired and beautifully glamorous people enjoying fine food, wine and entertainment in the ultimate corporate fight night.
